Several nearby communities are also presenting National Night Out events nearby in addition to the Arlington Heights National Night Out event at North School Park, Arlington Heights Road and Eastman Street [INFO and MAP] just north of Northwest Highway and Arlington Heights Road.

Prospect Heights
The Prospect Heights police and fire departments and park district will hold their National Night Out event from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. tonight at the Lions Park Pool, 110 West Camp McDonald Road near the Gary Morava Center [MAP]. The National Night Out event Tuesday, Aug. 6, is a family-friendly program enjoyed annually by the residents of Prospect Heights.

Rolling Meadows
National Night Out Festivities return to Rolling Meadows in 2013, and will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Rolling Meadows Community Center, 3705 Pheasant Drive [MAP]. National Night Out Rolling Meadows includes a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers, arts and crafts supplied by Lowe’s Home Improvement stores, music from Rock and Roll Radio, and free food and nonalcoholic beverages.

Schaumburg
In Schaumburg there are nineteen neighborhood events and two “village-wide” events for residents. Members of the Schaumburg Police and Fire departments along with Mayor Larson and village Trustees are excited to visit with residents at 21 different neighborhood based National Night Out events. Some events are 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and some events are 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It’s best to get to the event in the 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. before sunset for the best photo opportunities.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to visit with residents, make new friends and renew a partnership between the community and police department to take a stand against crime,” says police chief Ken Bouche. “The Department takes pride in participating annually.”

Nineteen events are being held in local neighborhoods organized by homeowners associations, apartment communities, and Neighborhood Watch Groups. There are two “village-wide” events for residents without an event in their neighborhood.

Two Village-Wide Events
Schaumburg Senior Citizens and Teenagers are invited to a combined National Night Out event at the Teen Center, 231 S. Civic Drive [MAP], from 6-8p.m.

The Schaumburg Park District will be hosting a “Community” NNO block party at Meineke Park, 220 E. Weathersfield Way, [MAP] for Schaumburg residents.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:
Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are
organized and fighting back.
