Bomb Threat at Walmart, Rolling Meadows Shuts Store for About an Hour

Rolling Meadows police responded about 4:00 p.m. Wednesday November 15, 2017 to a bomb threat at Walmart, 1460 Golf Rd, Rolling Meadows. Police evacuated the store and searched the store, and apparently found nothing at the store.

A witness reported that police blocked all driveway entrances in and out of the Walmart parking lot during the incidents. A news professional was on scene when the bomb threat incident unfolded.

All police on-scene operations at Walmart were completed by about 5:15 p.m., and Walmart was also operating normally by 5:15 p.m.

There was no mention of the incident on Rolling Meadows police Facebook or Twitter accounts as of 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Currently officials have not confirmed there was a bomb threat, but some employees at Walmart were aware of a bomb threat. There was no confirmation how the bomb threat was received.

Multi-State Walmart Bomb Threats in 2015
In November 2015, several bomb threats were received by an automated phone call in Walmarts in several states. Walmarts locations in Jennings, Ville Platte, West Monroe, Ruston, Jena, Jonesboro, Vidalia, and Thibodeaux were evacuated about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015.

Bomb threats were also received in Idaho, Kentucky, Maine, New York, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Not all of the threats were automated calls.

A bomb threat was received at the Idaho Falls, Idaho Walmart on Utah Avenue on Friday, November 27, 2015.

A bomb threat was received at the Lexington, Kentucky Walmart on West New Circle Road on Thursday, December 10, 2015.

A bomb threat was received at the Scarborough, Maine Walmart location on Gallery Boulevard on Saturday night, November 28, 2015. Also in Maine on Saturday night, bomb threats were received at Walmart locations in Biddeford, Calais, Falmouth, Houlton, Newport, Skowhegan, Thomaston, Windham, Waterville.

A bomb threat was received at the Horseheads, New York Walmart on Saturday, November 28, 2017.

A bomb threat were received in Sioux Falls South Dakota on Thanksgiving night, November 26, 2015. Police responded to all three Walmart locations in Sioux Falls. A fourth Walmart opened in Sioux Falls in May 2016.

Bomb threats were received in Wyoming on Black Friday, November 27, 2015 at Walmart locations at Riverton, Rock Springs, and possibly other locations.
