VIDEO: Vehicle vs bicyclist crash at Golf Road and New Wilke Road Rolling Meadows
Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:00 PM Friday to a report of bicycle and car crash with injuries at Golf Road and New Wilke Road Rolling Meadows, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the victim on the bicycle was unconscious. People stopped to help a perform CPR for the victim.
Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighter/paramedics on Ambulance 3 arrived first and reported that a patient was down in the street with bystanders performing CPR.
The patient was rushed to Northwest Community Hospital with apparent life-threatening injuries in an Arlington Heights rescue ambulance.
Accident investigation was immediately underway. Police were immediately interviewing witnesses at the scene. While police did not comment on the cause of the crash, it appeared the bicyclist may have been northbound in the crosswalk on the west side of the intersection, while a black Scion hatchback may have been eastbound at the intersection. As observed at the scene, the black Scion hatchback was stopped about 400 feet east of the location where the bicycle came to rest at the west side of the intersection.
