Rolling Meadows Police and and Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:36 PM Thursday to a report of a rollover crash with injuries at Route 53 and Interstate 90 Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a car rolled over and was upright on Route 53 at Interstate 90.
Rolling Meadows police and Illinois State Police were on the scene. Apparently the driver was not found, and may have fled westbound on foot toward IKEA.
Although there may have been a foot pursuit or an attempt to locate the driver after the crash, there was no word of any police vehicle pursuit before the crash.
The man that fled the scene was described as 45-years-old and wearing all black.
Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedics also responded to another report of the same incident, which was reported as southbound Route 53, just south of Euclid Avenue.
The crash occurred near Interstate 90 and witness saw the man walk across all lanes westbound toward Woodfield or Ikea.
